Welcoming 2018 – Reflection and Goal Setting

Welcoming 2018 – Reflection and Goal Setting

As the end of 2017 draws to a close, i start to reflect at how quickly the year has passed and how much has changed in our lives. Little did we know at the start of the year that we would be ending it with a move halfway across the world, now calling NYC our home, if at least for a little while.

Our son, Leo, is evolving everyday into the most funny, beautiful, carefree little boy and it makes me so proud to see him thrive, every day learning something new. Motherhood so far has been a bit of a whirlwind, teaching me many things, to be patient, to be present and to listen more. Its not always the easiest journey, but it’s the best journey i’ve been on so far. To be a mother is a privilege and the more i continue a long this path the more i recognise it should never be taken for granted.

I’m sure this will also be a time of reflection for others and i know many of us will start writing down resolutions or goals for the New Year, i’m certainly no different. We may not achieve them all, and there’s nothing wrong in that, but i definitely feel for myself at least, that its good to have something to learn from and to strive for, it keeps me focused and grounded when the repetition of life can sometimes get in the way.

I thought i would share my list of goals for the upcoming year. I would love to hear yours.

1. Laugh more, stress less
2. Be kinder to myself
3. Be kind to others
4. Take time to read more
5. Always be grateful
6. Try learning something new – hobby
7. Keep striving to be the best mother to our son
8. Believe
9. Be positive

Whatever your goals are, to all our beautiful family and friends, we would like to wish you a very Happy New Year.

May 2018 bring you everything you wish for.
